Noise-induced hearing loss is a sneaky disease, a workers’ hearing acuity deteriorates slowly and it can take years before the worker becomes aware of the state of his hearing. Hard of hearing individuals tend to isolate themselves from their entourage. At work, they hardly identify instructions, alerts or signals which is in itself a risk of injury.
